Tips to prevent robbery The National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC)  has provided some great tips for protecting yourself from a robbery.    Robbery is a frequent problem in major cities such as Washington DC and Baltimore, MD.    Security guard service companies and local law enforcement departments make their best efforts to provide a safe environment.  They want to create a climate that is free from the risk of robbery.  Security officers and law enforcement consider theft prevention to be necessary.  Security officers patrol residential communities, commercial building and a multitude of other types of sites to prevent robbery and other crimes.  Police officers respond and arrest criminals ensuring that they pay consequences for their criminal activity.  In some cases, the prospects of incarceration encouraged would-be robbers to choose a path other than crime to meet their needs.  Unfortunately, all too often criminal still decide to satisfy their financial needs by taking from others.  The fear of being captured and sent to prison does not go far enough to prevent robbery.  Most robberies include a weapon.  Criminals having a gun increases the risk of victims being injured or killed.  Citizens can use knowledge to prevent robbery.   The risk of theft can be reduced by practicing common sense.  It is said that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  This is the case with preventing crime.  Following these simple tips go a long way towards not becoming a victim of a robbery.
